Wakeskater Stef Tor Gives Us An Update On Her Recovery

Posted on October 15th, 2008 by | posted in General, Riders

Three months ago Liquid Force wakeskater Stef Tor (she’s the hot, in that Angelina Jolie way, wakeskater from Canada that stormed onto the scene with her punk style and multiple tats) broke her leg in a skating accident.

An industry magazine caught up with her to check and see how the recovery was going, and we’ve got her comments. Thankfully Stef is back on the water, and hitting the PT hard to be in shape for next year.

Check out her comments after the jump; you’ll want to read them with a Canadian accent though, it makes the grammar mistakes less grating.

Liquid Force Films: Skate Session with Wakeskater Aaron Reed

Posted on April 15th, 2008 by | posted in General, Media, Riders

Aaron Reed is a veteran member of the Liquid Force wakeskate team, and as such, he’s been around the industry for quite some time. There’s a reason why Aaron was one of the first wakeskaters with a pro-model, the guy kills it. And as this video from Liquid Force Films shows, it doesn’t matter if he’s on dry land or in the water, he’s got skill when it comes to manipulating a board with his feet.

Liquid Force Aaron Reed Skate Session

Fellow Liquid Force team member Shane Bonifay, ever the comedian, also graces the video with his presence. His multiple appearences add a Where’s Waldo component to what would have otherwise been simply enjoyable skate action.

We can definitely expect much more from Mr. Reed in the future, and based on how much fun he appears to be having in the video, what he does behind the boat should only get better.

Check out the video after the jump.

Rusty Malinoski Hyperlite Marek Pro Model Wakeboard

Posted on April 10th, 2008 by | posted in Gear, Riders

Rusty Malinoski Hyperlite Marek Pro Model

Rusty Malinoski’s new Hyperlite pro model has to be one of the most anticipated new wakeboards the industry has ever seen. We were the first with news of the Canadian’s new board, and now that it has been over a year, it’s apparent that Rusty and Hyperlite are taking their time to perfect the finished shape.

Today we get a little encouragement that the wait is almost over though, along with some extra information about what we can expect from Hyperlite’s newest shape. In addition to the details we announced last February, we know that Rusty’s pro model will be named the Marek, and will feature Hyperlite’s new DINE technology. Hyperlite has deployed this lightweight core, which results in a lighter, more durable and lively board, on the top-of-the-line Hyperlite Sub VI and Hyperlite Murray wakeboards, proving that Rusty is a cornerstone of the Hyperlite brand.

With a release date of May 15th, we won’t have long to wait before the Marek is ready to ride, and if your style matches the aggressive nature of Rusty’s riding, you can be sure it will be to your liking.

“Drive” started off in Seattle, with the likes of Benny Greenwood, Jeff McKee, and Randall Harris setting off on Lake Washington. Then the teaser did just that…teased us fans of wake just enough. That was followed up by some coverage in the magazines. DRIVE continues to wet the palate with glimpses of the video popping up all over.

No Fear Wakeboard Gear

Did you know that No Fear has 45 privately owned retail locations throughout the Western United States? We didn’t either, but apparently West Coast teens can’t get enough of the intrepid company and their killer designs. The demand is so high in fact, that they’re even opening another location in a mall near the border between the US and Mexico.

In the coming months they hope to open a new location in Florida to hock their wares to wakeboardings finest. You can check out the full press release after the jump, if you really want to.
