2009 Ronix Wakeboard Boot Technology Explained

Posted on January 23rd, 2009 by | posted in Events, Gear, General

2009 Ronix Wakeboard Boots

From the beginning, Ronix has done amazing things for wakeboard boots. In fact, one could even argue that they are single handedly responsible for the mainstream adoption of closed-toe wakeboard boots. Even though it’s been a short 3 years since they released their first collection of product, Ronix is upping the ante again for 2009 by completely redesigning most of their wakeboard boot technology.

Wakeside.com posted a summary of the tech included in the new Ronix kicks that we found interesting, so we thought we would summarize some of the most noteable features.

Boat Show Incentive Wrap Up: Save A Ton On Your New Boat

Posted on January 22nd, 2009 by | posted in Boat Show, Boats, Events, General

With boat show season upon us, and boat sales down significantly this year due to the economy, perhaps it shouldn’t be a surprise that most manufacturers are helping dealers move boats by offering some pretty impressive incentives for boat show shoppers. From Malibu and Mastercraft on down to Supra, almost all of the major players are offering free options, cash back, or a combination of the two.

Compared to years past, where demand outpaced supply, this is definitely a different landscape for those purchasing boats, and for those that have the means, there has never been a better time to buy a new boat.

Read on for a full summary of what’s on the table if you buy a new boat during a 2009 boat show.

Justin Stephens and Silas Thurman sure have been busy lately… In addition to the new wakeskate company they recently announced , now we learn that they’ve already started filling out their team, starting with Ben Horan and Andrew Pastura.

Looks like Remote Wakeskates is off to a good start for such a young company. We can’t wait to see what they can do when they actually have some product to show off.

Check out the PR after the jump.

Company Wake Officially Announces Remote WakeSkates

Posted on January 21st, 2009 by | posted in Gear, General, Industry Press Releases, Riders

Just as we suspected, Company Wake has pulled the wraps off their new wakeskate division. Also expected was the news that Silas Thurman will head things up for the new company. What we didn’t expect however is their decision to introduce a new brand, Remote Wakeskates, rather than stick with the Company name.

We’ll keep you posted on the latest on Remote Wakeskates, and you can check out the press release after the break.

Axis Wake Finally Releases A Website

Posted on January 13th, 2009 by | posted in Boats, General

Axis Wake, the price-conscious manufacture from the brains behind Malibu Boats, finally has a website up, and although it does offer a little more information about the new brand and their first model, mostly it just confirms what we already knew; Malibu really doesn’t now how to make attractive website.

While we’re thankful to get some additional information about the Axis A22, it would be nice if there weren’t numerous errors, incomplete information and a lack of style scattered throughout the site.

Still, apparently something is better than nothing, and here’s to hoping this is only the starting point for Axis’ web experience.

BREAKING: Silas Thurman Leaving Liquid Force for Company Wake

Posted on January 12th, 2009 by | posted in Gear, General, Riders

WakeORIGIN has just heard that pro wakeskater Silas Thurman, the man behind the bi-level LF SST wakeskate, is leaving Liquid Force to head up Company Wake’s wakeskate division. While no official announcement has been made yet, we expect to hear something shortly, which means Company is charging head first into wakeskates.

Silas was responsible for the SST, a board that the rest of the LF wakeskate team loves so much they ditched their own pro models to ride. He’s also team manager for Nike 6.0, and is actively involved in growing their watersports program. Together with Company, the two should make a great team that will continue to bring innovation and durability to the wakeskate community.

We wish all parties involved the best of luck, and look forward to seeing what Silas and Company Wake come up with in the years to come.
