You may have noticed that the site was down momentarily this morning due to some issues with the database. The problem actually stemmed from a spike in traffic that overloaded our server. While that’s a good problem to have, it’s always a pain when WakeORIGIN goes down.

Sean Kilgus, BFY Productions, has delivered another masterpiece in DRIVE. This is his follow up film to such titles as Butter Effect, Bent Felix, and Running on Empty. Wake films we all have watched over and over.

Even though it’s snowing outside right now, it feels like summer is right around the corner and won’t be long until we’ll all be spending time on the water. Over the last week or so, we’ve been doing some spring cleaning to get WakeORIGIN ready for warmer weather and all of the news and excitement that comes with the summer months.

As our regular readers have no doubt noticed, the biggest change we implemented is a new look to the sites layout and a stream-lined navigation scheme. The cleaner layout is a little wider to allow for larger images and easier to read text.

In addition to the new look, we’ve also added some additional features that should make staying on top of the wakeboard industry easier.

• Email Article Features: Located at the bottom of each post is a green button and a link that says “Share This”. Simply click on the button or link and a form will show up allowing you to enter the email address you wish to send the article to.
• New Article Notifications: Stay up-to-date on the latest wakeboarding news by subscribing to our RSS feed in your favorite news reader, or sign up to receive a daily email digest in your inbox.

We also have a number of other changes and feature enhancements that we’ll be announcing in the near future. Our goal is to create the most user friendly website possible to make it easier for wakeboarders to get the latest news and media in the wakeboard industry.

We spent the weekend upgrading things around here, and among some transparent changes, we’ve also added support for Gravatars. Hopefully this will spice up the comments a little, and allow you guys to make things feel a little more personal.
