Kevin Henshaw Sheds Some Light On Why He Likes Malibu Boats

Liquid Force team rider and sponsored Malibu athlete Kevin Henshaw sat down with the camera recently for a little one-on-one time in his Wakesetter VLX. He talks about the fact that he's been riding Malibu for years (he doesn't remember exactly how long), and highlights a few of the key features he likes about his Malibu. There's also some decent shots of Henshaw riding, although that's definitely not the key focus on the video. Apparently Malibu has produced more videos showcasing their team members on the water and in the boats, so we'll try to dig up the others for you to enjoy. Mastercraft’s New 300 Gets Closer To Official Debut

Mastercraft sent out a little update on the status of their newest model, the MC 300 and fortunately they decided to include some actual pictures to whet your appetite. For those of you not familiar with the MC300, it's Mastercraft's latest move away from the hardcore wakeboard industry, and is geared towards pleasure boaters on big water that occasionally like to pull someone behind the boat. As such, this is a BIG, measuring a massive 30 feet long and 11 feet wide. And with a dry weight of 12,500 pounds, it weighs nearly three times more than their flagship wakeboard boat the X-Star. With an enclosed cuddy cabin and an integrated "arch", Mastercraft has proven that they can build a boat designed for buyer's outside the wakeboard industry. Now they just have to figure out how to convince someone that doesn't know the Mastercraft name to actually buy it. Axis Wake Finally Releases A Website

Axis Wake, the price-conscious manufacture from the brains behind Malibu Boats, finally has a website up, and although it does offer a little more information about the new brand and their first model, mostly it just confirms what we already knew; Malibu really doesn't now how to make attractive website. While we're thankful to get some additional information about the Axis A22, it would be nice if there weren't numerous errors, incomplete information and a lack of style scattered throughout the site. Still, apparently something is better than nothing, and here's to hoping this is only the starting point for Axis' web experience.

Supra Boats Pulls the Wraps Off Their 2009 Website

After releasing the details on their new for 2009 Launch 21V wakeboard boat, Supra has pulled the wraps off their new website for next year, which features specs, images, and video of their entirely v-drive model lineup for 2009. Did You Wakeboard Less This Summer Because Of High Gas Prices?

Going into the summer there was a lot of discussion surrounding how (relatively) high gas prices would impact the boating industry. Clearly they've had an impact on what type of vehicles American's are purchasing, but I'm not sure the higher cost of fuel actually kept many wakeboarders off of the water. Now that the end of the season is near, how much were you on the water this summer? Probably less than you wanted to be, but was that actually because of the price of gas? If you put 100 hours on your boat this summer, that's around 600 gallons of gas consumed. If the average price of a gallon of gas went up $1.50 from last summer, that's another $900 spent to use your boat. Is that enough to keep people off the water, or do most wakeboarders figure it's worth it? Let us know in the comments.

Supra’s Brand New 2009 Launch 21V Wakeboard Boat Gets Detailed

Supra has rolled out their 2009 product line and in addition to some tweaks (mostly minor), they've added a new model for the new year. The Launch 21V fills the space between the 20V and the 22V nicely, and at 21' 4" long and 99", it packs a lot of interior space.

Supra has also made a handful of incremental upgrades to all of the boats in their line-up for '09, including:

Lower dash for more visibility which includes Zero Off compatible
Electric adjustable multisport trimtab wakeplate
Titan Spinner board racks
New ballast pumps with automatic shutoffs
New Gravity Games package
New Worlds Package

Additional, the Launch 20, Supra's last remaining direct drive model has been dropped for '09, making Supra the first major manufacturer to transition completely to a wakeboard/multi-sport focus.

Correct Craft Launches New Website Featuring 2009 Nautique Boats

Correct Craft has pulled the wraps off their new updated website for next year, which features their line of 2009 Nautique boats. The overall layout of the site is the same as last year's version, with minor updates to accommodate new options for exploring each boat, and the technology and features that make them special. The biggest changes to the 2009 model line include the brand new 216V crossover and the strangely styled Flight Control Tower 3. Designed for multi-sport performance, the 216V features plenty of space in it's 21' 6" chassis, along with built-in ballast for wakeboarding performance. Unfortunately it also features the same disjointed, segmented and confusing interior that all of Nautique's new models have showcased lately. 2009 Malibu Boats Website About to Be Unveiled?

Imagine our surprise when we tried to check out the Malibu Boats website this morning and were greeted with the error page shown above. Sure, it could just be a configuration problem with Malibu's server, but our bet is that they're in the process of rolling out their new website for 2009. The '09 version of their web marketing tool has been delayed some what, with 2009 model year boats already being delivered to customers. We've heard that the new website will be a complete overhaul, not only in terms of looks, but also in the "engine" that drives the website. A fix for the buggy iSpec boat configuration tool is part of the reason for the big change that has led to a delay in the launch. Stay tuned for Malibu's new 2009 website, coming soon.
