Dbot5 has a pair of new wakeboard tower speakers systems in the works. Initially there will be two models available, both of which will pair a horn for the high frequencies with either a 6″ or 8″ mid-bass driver for full spectrum reproduction. Compared to some of the other similar choice on the market, these new speakers will be housed in an anodized aluminum enclosure, so those of you that want metal and not “composite” should be satisfied.
We had a chance to briefly listen to some pre-production samples back-to-back with Wet Sounds Pro 80’s, and to our ears the Dbot5 version sounded fuller at the lower end of the spectrum, with similar high frequency output. Look for a full review against industry leaders as soon as final production samples are available.
Time will tell the major differences behind the boat, but if the quality lives up to the high standards Wet Sounds has set, these should be a popular addition to the pro-audio wakeboard tower speakers scene.
