If you haven’t seen Push Process, the video from acclaimed director Justin Stephens that highlights Oakley team riders, you definitely need to get a copy. It was without a doubt one of the best films of last year, and coming from a brand like Oakley, it definitely made a statement about the direction they plan on taking their wakeboard team.
Oakley has again stepped up their commitment to the wake industry by adding Nick Taylor to their team, and extending their contracts with George Daniels and Danny Hampson. As more main-stream brands, like Oakley, get involved with the wake industry hopefully awareness will continue to build, which will bring more popularity to the sport we love.

FOOTHILL RANCH, Calif., Feb. 18, 2008 – Oakley, Inc. today announced the signing of professional wakeskater Nick Taylor to its Eyewear team. A rising star from Palms Beach, Florida, Taylor is coming off his most successful year to date and has established himself as one of the best wakeskaters in the world.
“Being invited to join the most elite team in wake and the best eyewear company in the world is just mind blowing,” says Taylor. “I’m super stoked on the future.”
In 2006, at the age of 18, Taylor was named “Rookie of the Year” and was named “Wakeskater of the Year” by Alliance wakeboard magazine only a year later.
Taylor joins teammates Danny Hampson and George Daniel’s to make up the Oakley wakeskate team.
“I’m very excited to have Nick on the team,” says Jack Blodgett, Oakley wake team assistant. “Last year he was out with filming with us when I witnessed him throw down one of the most progressive maneuvers ever done in the sport. Nick was able to land himself a few shots in the Oakley wake film Push Process and he opened the audience’s eyes to the talent and dedication within the world of wakeskating.”
