I just got off of the phone with Northwest based filmer and W.I.T. Productions front man Spencer Norris. Spencer just returned from a 20 day trip to Florida where he was working on obtaining some footage for his next video. It sounds like things are going well with some crazy happenings in the world of wakeskating.
There is an insane group of young skaters coming up with Reed Hansen, Matt Manzari, Nick Taylor, and a few others leading the pack. Tech tricks were once a rare occurance…that is not necessarily true today as it seems something big is being stuck on the regular.
The latest word from Spencer is that he witnessed Matt Manzari stick a wake-to-wake 360 flip as well as a wake-to-wake double kickflip. Just as Thomas Horrell, Aaron Reed, and Danny Hampson pushed the limits early in the sport’s progression…Matt and the new crew of rippers are upping the ante.

I never spent a lot of time skateboarding, so I suck at wakeskating, but I’m still blown away by the progression that is occuring in wakeskating.
I think most people find wakeskating boring to watch, which is too bad because the skill required is quite impressive.
