Posted on January 21st, 2009 by Jason | posted in Gear, General, Riders

Justin Stephens and Silas Thurman sure have been busy lately… In addition to the new wakeskate company they recently announced , now we learn that they’ve already started filling out their team, starting with Ben Horan and Andrew Pastura.

Looks like Remote Wakeskates is off to a good start for such a young company. We can’t wait to see what they can do when they actually have some product to show off.

Check out the PR after the jump.

Company Wake Officially Announces Remote WakeSkates

Posted on January 21st, 2009 by Jason | posted in Gear, General, Industry Press Releases, Riders

Just as we suspected, Company Wake has pulled the wraps off their new wakeskate division. Also expected was the news that Silas Thurman will head things up for the new company. What we didn’t expect however is their decision to introduce a new brand, Remote Wakeskates, rather than stick with the Company name.

We’ll keep you posted on the latest on Remote Wakeskates, and you can check out the press release after the break.

BREAKING: Silas Thurman Leaving Liquid Force for Company Wake

Posted on January 12th, 2009 by Jason | posted in Gear, General, Riders

WakeORIGIN has just heard that pro wakeskater Silas Thurman, the man behind the bi-level LF SST wakeskate, is leaving Liquid Force to head up Company Wake’s wakeskate division. While no official announcement has been made yet, we expect to hear something shortly, which means Company is charging head first into wakeskates.

Silas was responsible for the SST, a board that the rest of the LF wakeskate team loves so much they ditched their own pro models to ride. He’s also team manager for Nike 6.0, and is actively involved in growing their watersports program. Together with Company, the two should make a great team that will continue to bring innovation and durability to the wakeskate community.

We wish all parties involved the best of luck, and look forward to seeing what Silas and Company Wake come up with in the years to come.

Some Big News Coming Soon From Company Wake?

Posted on October 7th, 2008 by Jason | posted in Gear, General

Have you checked out the Company Wake blog lately? Justin Stephens, the founder of the upstart company, has made a few posts over the last week that could be interpreted as indicative of something big coming.

Company Wake finally showed their goods at Surf Expo in September, so who knows what they have left up their sleeve, but it’s clear Justin is pumped about something, even if it’s just the general direction things are going at his new project.

Of course it could just be the random musings of Stephens, and not actually have anything to do with anything news related happening at The Company, but we’re hoping that’s not the case.

What do you think, something up, or no big deal? Let us know in the comments.

The Mystery That is Company Wake Continues

Company Wake Promo Video

The wakeboard industry has seen a number of substantial changes in the last few years. From the purchase of nearly every major manufacturer by Bob Archer, to the emergence of new companies like Ronix Wake, it’s safe to say things have been in transition.

And now, although there has been relative stability through the last couple of seasons, there is another new player on the horizon, this time in the form of Company Wake. Although details are thin, and they’ve chosen to take a decidedly cryptic approach to marketing, some information is starting to leak out. What we know at this point is that the company is the brain-child of Justin Stephens, a veteran of the industry. With Surf Expo ‘08 set as their public unveiling, we can expect to see quite a bit more from this young company.

Until then, check out the viralish video they’ve released for more teasing and not much information after the jump.
