Liquid Force Injects A Little Nike Technology Into Their Bindings

Combine the style of Shane Bonifay's (alright, maybe Watson) with the functionality of Nike's running shoes and you would have the ultimate wakeboard boot. Well Liquid Force has done just that with their new Limited Edition wakeboard boots for 2009. Based on running shoe technology, the new boots feature an integrated air cushion for shock absorption. Liquid Force couldn't just use the same design as a modern running show though, as the loss of board response would be too great. So they went through a series of designs to find the perfect combination of cushioning without sacrificing any feel. The technology will debut in the 2009 Liquid Force Limited Edition wakeboard boots, before making its way into more Liquid Force boots next year. We'll post more information and official pictures when we get them, and you can head down to your local shop towards the end of March to check them out in public.

BREAKING: Silas Thurman Leaving Liquid Force for Company Wake

WakeORIGIN has just heard that pro wakeskater Silas Thurman, the man behind the bi-level LF SST wakeskate, is leaving Liquid Force to head up Company Wake's wakeskate division. While no official announcement has been made yet, we expect to hear something shortly, which means Company is charging head first into wakeskates. Silas was responsible for the SST, a board that the rest of the LF wakeskate team loves so much they ditched their own pro models to ride. He's also team manager for Nike 6.0, and is actively involved in growing their watersports program. Together with Company, the two should make a great team that will continue to bring innovation and durability to the wakeskate community. We wish all parties involved the best of luck, and look forward to seeing what Silas and Company Wake come up with in the years to come.

Wakeskater Stef Tor Gives Us An Update On Her Recovery

Three months ago Liquid Force wakeskater Stef Tor (she's the hot, in that Angelina Jolie way, wakeskater from Canada that stormed onto the scene with her punk style and multiple tats) broke her leg in a skating accident. An industry magazine caught up with her to check and see how the recovery was going, and we've got her comments. Thankfully Stef is back on the water, and hitting the PT hard to be in shape for next year. Check out her comments after the jump; you'll want to read them with a Canadian accent though, it makes the grammar mistakes less grating.

Liquid Force Films: Skate Session with Wakeskater Aaron Reed

Aaron Reed is a veteran member of the Liquid Force wakeskate team, and as such, he's been around the industry for quite some time. There's a reason why Aaron was one of the first wakeskaters with a pro-model, the guy kills it. And as this video from Liquid Force Films shows, it doesn't matter if he's on dry land or in the water, he's got skill when it comes to manipulating a board with his feet.

Fellow Liquid Force team member Shane Bonifay, ever the comedian, also graces the video with his presence. His multiple appearences add a Where's Waldo component to what would have otherwise been simply enjoyable skate action. We can definitely expect much more from Mr. Reed in the future, and based on how much fun he appears to be having in the video, what he does behind the boat should only get better. BROstock is Coming to a Lake Near You, Don’t Miss it!

Liquid Force's BROstock is a revolutionary event that offers average-joe wakeboarders the opportunity to hang out, wakeboard, and swap stories with the Liquid Force pro team. After a banner year last year, BROstock is back and bigger than ever for 2007. The first event just wrapped up at Lake Powell, but thanks to an expanded schedule for this summer, you've got three more chances to experience everything that is BROstock.

In a lot of ways, BROstock resembles the beginnings of BoardStock, combining a little bit of wakeboarding with a lot of hanging out, and the chance to make some new friends at the same time. As BoardStock has continued to become more and more commercialized, while at the same time loosing some of the appeal that made it so much fun when it was still a small gathering, BROstock promises to fill the void with a rider oriented event centered around having a good time.

Byerly Toe Jam Comes to Texas This Weekend

Stop two of the Byerly Toe Jam wakeskate tour should prove just as eventful as the first stop. The second installment of this years tour will take place at Texas Ski Ranch located in New Braunfels, TX. The setup at TSR includes a cable park that will host the slider course, as well as a private lake where competitors will ride behind a Mastercraft X-Star to battle it out on the wakes.

Qualifying took place yesterday, and despite strong winds, the level of riding was still impressive with Nick Taylor pulling a backside 3 off the kicker, and George Daniels hitting a boardslide kickflip off the incline rail. Today is the bonus wake session behind the X-Star, and should prove just as impressive. Saturday is the main even though, with much at stake. The top three riders from the finals will advance to the Toe Jam main event in September at The Projects. The finals kick off at 9am, and will run until a winner is found. If you're in the area, head over to Texas Ski Ranch to witness the best wakeskaters in the world battling it out. If you can't make it out this weekend, don't worry, WAKEOrigin will bring you the results of each round of competition.
