WakePics.com Wednesday: Liquid Force Slide Show Footage

Posted on March 19th, 2008 by | posted in General, Media

We’ve teamed up with WakePics.com, the premier wakeboarding media site, to bring you new and unique wakeboard media every Wednesday.

This week we feature a short video clip from Liquid Force’s Slide Show event in Kennesaw, GA. Most people don’t think of a legit rail jam when they think Georgia, but with riders like Shawn Watson, Kevin Henshaw, Colin Harrington, Aaron Reed and Gregg Necrason on hand, you can be sure there was some serious riding going on.

Check out the video after the jump, and then head over to WakePics.com for more great user contributed wakeboard media.

Mastercraft Looks to Apple For Inspiration on Parody Video

Mastercraft Copies Apple With ParodyYeah, this one has been making the rounds on the interwebs for a while now, but it’s still pretty funny, so why not watch it again? Apparently Zane and his PC-aping buddy were bored at a Mastercraft shoot, and came up with a series of funny (although hardly original) skits comparing their product to the competitors.

Still, what they’re lacking in creativity, they make up for with a good laugh at Malibu’s expense. Granted much of the information offered in the skit isn’t entirely accurate, but then again is accurate journalism really what you expected from Zane Schwenk?

Check out the video after the jump, and stay tuned for the other videos in the series.

Liquid Force Pros Describe Their Designs in ’07 Clinic Videos

Posted on May 1st, 2007 by | posted in Gear, General, Media

2007 Liquid Force Clinic Wakeboard VideosOriginally conceived to be a tool for Liquid Force dealers to use for educating their employees, the Clinic Videos quickly gained popularity last year when they found their way into the hands of all wakeboard enthusiasts. For 2007 Liquid is following up on the success of the Clinic Series with a more complete and in depth review of almost all of their products.

Jimmy Redmond, the mastermind behind most of Liquid Force’s designs, offers some interesting insight into the many new wakeboard and surfboard shapes, while Scott, lead wakeboard binding designer explains the boot lineup for 2007. Jimmy also manages to do a reasonable job of keeping the less than articulate professional wakeboarders that are on camera with him on topic and answering the questions. One things for sure, few wakeboarders would survive if performing in front of the camera were their day job.

MasterCraft X-1 Saved By Airlift Helicopter

Mastercraft Helicoptered to SafetyIt’s not every day that you get to see a Mastercraft X1 dangling from a helicopter a few hundred feet above the ground. When you combine extreme flooding with a sand bar, that’s the only means of rescue for a new boat that gets stranded. We can only imagine what was going through the owner’s mind while he watched his toy being plucked off the mud. In the end though, everything turned our fine and the X1 survived it’s harrowing trip suspended from a Bell 212 helicopter by a single cable.

2006 Pro Wakeboard Tour Videos From Fuel TV

Posted on April 24th, 2007 by | posted in Events, General, Media

Fuel TV Wakeboard VideosIf you didn’t get a chance to visit one of the 2006 Pro Tour stops to see the action in person you missed out on some solid riding, and a pretty fun scene surrounding wakeboarding. Fortunately for you wakeboarding Magazine and Fuel TV have teamed up to offer Fuel’s 2006 PWT coverage online so you can relive the head-to-head show downs whenever you want.

Wakeboarding rarely makes it on TV, and few households actually have Fuel TV from their cable provider, so this is a great move that will give wakeboarding, and the Pro Tour more exposure. Hopefully the 2007 tour videos will be available shortly after the events actually take place, giving wakeboarders around the world the opportunity to experience what a tour stop is like, without having to make a road trip.

Check Out The Butter Effect on FUEL TV

Wakeboarding gets another shot at primetime on Fuel TV’s Insane Cinema program throughout the month of April. Sure, it’s not a major network, but anytime you can catch someone riding a wakeboard and it’s not part of some cheesy commercial, that’s a good thing for the sport.

So program your DVR if you haven’t already seen this unique film from Sean Kilgus and if you have seen it, make sure you remind all of your buddies that haven’t to check out Fuel TV this month.

Check out all of the details, along with a preview of the video after the jump.

Take a look at a rather lengthy teaser for the new wake film titled “Authentic: A Left Coast Vision.” The film comes from director Brandon Lee of Over-Flo Films and features the likes of Aaron Aubrey, Kyle Murphy, and some of the West Coast’s most stylish riders. By the looks of it, the video has solid editing and some great film work.
