A few weeks ago The Liquid Circus broke the news that Brad Smeele (who?) had landed the first regular 1080 in history. At the time we had to make do with Jeff Weatherall’s great sequence of the feet as the only documented proof.

Well suffer no more, Wakeboarding Mag has just posted a clip of from their MyWake Video site documenting the action in full 30FPS action. Apparently this is the video Josh Robinson shot for his upcoming flick Canvas, and thankfully he saw fit to release it prior to the video.

Brad Smeele may not have been very well known before, but he has everyone’s attention now. Hit the jump to see the first regular 1080 ever.

Sean Kilgus, of BFY Productions, is in the process of filming “DRIVE”. The latest filming trip took the BFY Productions crew to Arizona with JD Webb, Danny Harf, Randall Harris, & Rusty Malinoski.

If you didn’t get a chance to visit one of the 2006 Pro Tour stops to see the action in person you missed out on some solid riding, and a pretty fun scene surrounding wakeboarding. Fortunately for you wakeboarding Magazine and Fuel TV have teamed up to offer Fuel’s 2006 PWT coverage online so you can relive the head-to-head show downs whenever you want.

Wakeboarding rarely makes it on TV, and few households actually have Fuel TV from their cable provider, so this is a great move that will give wakeboarding, and the Pro Tour more exposure. Hopefully the 2007 tour videos will be available shortly after the events actually take place, giving wakeboarders around the world the opportunity to experience what a tour stop is like, without having to make a road trip.

Wakeboarding Mag headed down to Adrenalina at Orlando’s Florida Mall for a session on a standing wave. Store owner Jeffrey Geller was the first to install the device that has become so popular at theme parks and on cruise ships indoors. Since then, his alternative board sport shop has become a popular location for teens and board sport enthusiasts to kill time and try their luck against the vicious water.
